COVID-19: iOS Face ID update
Unlock iPhones faster with Face ID while wearing masks on iOS 13.5

The world is going through a difficult time with COVID-19 coronavirus forcing people to change the way they use technology. Due to the pandemic, it is ubiquitous to wear face masks to protect people from exposure. However, due to their face being hidden they were facing an irritating problem, Face ID.
Users were unable to unlock the devices with the Face ID enabled devices. They would get passcode prompt after multiple failed Face unlock attemps.
With the release of iOS 13.5, It just got a little easier to unlock your iPhones with the masks on. Now users won't have to wait for annoying multiple Face ID fails to get the passcode prompt. Just lift up your iPhone and swipe up from the bottom to unlock the device. This feature also works when authenticating with the App Store, Apple Books, Apple Pay, iTunes, and other apps that support signing in with Face ID.

Turn off Face ID on your iPhone
If you find Face ID too annoying, with the latest update you can now choose when to use Face ID or turn it off altogether:
- Open Settings.
2. Scroll down to Face ID & Passcode.
3. Choose when you want to use Face ID or Passcode.
The latest iOS 13.5 also includes the new contact tracing technology Apple has released to help public health officials develop mobile apps to identify and test people who have been in close contact with near someone infected with the coronavirus.
